Vintage Sewing Patterns with mrsvicki
We invited Vicki to share some of her favourite vintage patterns from the Sewdirect Collection! Drawing from the retro and vintage styles of dresses, coats, tops and skirts available across from Simplicity, Vogue, McCall’s and Butterick pattern lines.
The Vintage Pattern Collection allow our team to dive into our incredible archives to reissue and recreate designs across each of the brands from the 1930s, 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s and even the 80s. We update the sewing patterns with modern sizing so you can check the measurement charts for the relevant brand for further information. Check out the Vintage Collection of patterns here.
Introducing maker MrsVicki

“I started sewing about 10 years ago. I made the decision to quit alcohol completely and so my husband bought me a pack of 10 classes with a local dressmaker who was teaching learn to sew classes. I was hooked from the first pair of hideous PJ pants I made.
I ended up doing 3 sets of 10 classes.
I have been wearing 1940s & 50s style clothing since the mid nineties and just love that the patterns are being reproduced.
I love the whole process of sewing.. yes even the cutting out and hemming and being able to say to people “Thanks. I made it myself”.”
