Pattern Spotlight: A-line Dresses
We are starting to dream of warmer weather, early spring flowers and of course… wearing dresses! Today we want show you some lovely A-line dress patterns that might fill a gap in your (spring) wardrobe.
When referring to A-line dresses, the term A-line generally means fitted from the shoulders to the hips and then widening to the hem. We also use the term A-line when we’re talking about trapeze dresses. This shape is often fitted at the shoulders, then widening from the shoulders to the hem, ignoring the waist and hips.

This is a typical “Trapeze” dress as it flares out from the shoulders. It’s a pullover dress with button and loop closing at the back, and it features sleeve and hem variations. The ruffle at the back makes this dress bang on trend for this year!

It’s all in the neckline! This sleeveless A-line dress features a notched neck line with an optional big or small bow. It features bust darts and it closes with a zipper at the back.
