Pattern Spotlight: Shorts and Trousers
With the holidays coming up we’re thinking of summery me-made outfits! Something that is always good to have is a nice pair of trousers and a good pair of shorts. Sewing these are not as hard as you might think, just keep an eye out for beginner friendly patterns and for example; something with an elasticated waist would be easy to fit. We’ve gathered some of our favourite trouser and shorts patterns so you can get inspired to sew yourself some me-made bottoms this summer!

Pattern: Burda B7966.
With this pattern you get 3 length options to suit your style. This loose fitted design is casual and oh so comfortable! We especially love the drawstring waistband.

Pattern: Simplicity 8558.
Wide legged trousers that look like a skirt are bang on trend at the moment! You can choose from midi length culottes like pictured here and shorts. This beautiful design by Mimi G also comes with a stunning jacket and a crop top pattern.

Pattern: New Look 6289.
We love the optional tie belt that comes with this pattern, it would be a great way to do some colour blocking. Imagine this design in a cotton linen blend or a nice drapey crepe, so stylish! We can imagine wearing these all summer long!

Pattern: Simplicity 1165.
A slim fitted pair of trousers can be stylish and comfortable! This design actually has an elasticated waist so it’s easy to fit around the waist and comfortable to wear. It comes with 3 length options including really nice shorts.

Pattern: New Look 6055.
These cargo style trousers are so cool! What’s not to love about extra pockets! This pattern is really versatile with lots of different length options and different ways to finish the hem.
