This video demonstrates how to sew a welt seam. The welt seam includes one straight stitch, one edgestitch, and one topstitch. A welt seam is like a flat felled seam except the raw edges are not encased. Some even call it a “cheat’s felled seam”.

You can simple finish the raw edges of your seam allowance as one, press to one side and then stitch in place, securing through all the layers.
